VPW LSX Engine Block Cast Iron 4.000'' bore  ( 3.880 - 3990 )

The VPW LSX Cast Iron Block sets a new benchmark for street, performance, and competition builds. Unlike ordinary factory style LS iron blocks, our LSX engine blocks are purpose-built from the ground up using modern casting technology in a state-of-the-art foundry, utilizing brand-new tooling to ensure superior consistency, density, and strength.

This LSX block features extra-thick deck surfaces, beefier main webs, and more material throughout, making it far more resistant to cylinder pressure and block distortion compared to regular mass produced LS blocks. Unlike standard LS blocks (which use 4 head bolts per cylinder), the LSX allows 6 head bolts per cylinder, dramatically improving head sealing under boost or nitrous. It also features priority main oiling, ensuring critical bottom-end components get oil first which is crucial for high-RPM reliability.

Unlike many mass-produced blocks, VPW Warlord blocks are shipped mostly finished but intentionally left .005" undersize on the cylinder bores, so your machine shop can hone them precisely to suit your pistons and application. This allows for a custom fit and optimal ring seal — critical for high-performance engines.
