The versatile GM 245mm core allows builders to assemble a high performance converter with a variety of stall speeds and torque multiplication rates. The weakest part of the converter is the one-way clutch. Sonnax stator GM-ST-082 utilizes the same one-way clutch components as the 8” Opel (3.25” bore) stator and can replace the OE 245mm stator when assembling Sonnax non-lockup performance converter kits. This feature allows the use of Sonnax mechanical diodes or sprag cartridges when building high performance converters based on the GM 245mm core.
