Manual shift shafts in GM 4L80-E and 4L85-E models can become corroded in harsh environments. Corroded manual shift shafts are not suitable for reuse, especially in remanufacturing. Sonnax manual shift shaft kit 38511-04K has been yellow zinc plated to maximize corrosion resistance from road salt and other environmental contaminates. The flange face of the nuts is serrated for better holding capacity.
