Reid Racing TH400 tailhousings are stronger and more rigid than stock GM tailhousings. Why? Reid utilizes aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, thicker walls, and additional gusseting. Plus, their precision machining and perfectly aligned bores minimize power loss while maximizing reliability. They have also reworked the oil passages for improved lubrication of the yoke and rear bearing.

This is a shorter version of our standard-length SH400HB tailhousing intended for use when upgrading from a Powerglide to a Turbo 400 and retaining your driveshaft. This tailhousing makes a Turbo 400 the same length as a Powerglide.

Note: This roller bearing housing requires a hardened output yoke. The recommended yoke is Reid Racing P/N PGYMW-400R.
