Forward clutch and overdrive band failure in Ford AOD units can be the result of servo-pin-to-case-bore clearance. This excessive clearance allows leakage of forward clutch oil. This leakage reduces forward oil pressure and can allow overdrive band drag in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gears. Replace the OE servo pin with Sonnax overdrive servo pin kit 76833.

Servo pin has an O-ring to positively seal against the case bore
Snap ring is provided to secure the piston to the pin
