These GM heads take a different angle--an 18 degree valve angle--to improve airflow and performance. These low-port versions feature excellent flow at low valve lifts due to their tall short-side radiuses and deep valve bowls. And their shallow, wedge-shaped combustion chambers allow you to achieve high compression ratios with small piston domes. GM moves the spark plugs closer to the center bore than previous designs to improve flame travel across the chamber. Plus, their high-flow exhaust ports are higher and wider at the exhaust manifold flange than they were previously. These cylinder heads are sold without valve seats and valve guides.
